چکیده

There is an ever-expanding body of clinically oriented literature that demonstrates the efficacy of photorejuvenation as a means of enhancing the appearance of skin. From traditional fully ablative laser resurfacing to nonablative laser therapy to fractionated photothermolysis, there is substantial evidence of efficacy, including a number of randomized, controlled trials. There have also been several attempts to objectively measure the effects of laser therapy using tools such as ultrasoundbased imaging, profilometry, histology, and threedimensional imaging.

Randomized Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of Combination Therapy with Short-Pulsed 1,064-nm Neodymium-Doped Yttrium Aluminium Garnet Laser and Amorolfine Nail Lacquer for Onychomycosis

Background Onychomycosis is one of the most prevalent fungal diseases in the general population. However, treatment is of limited effectiveness and must be administered for long periods of time. Systemic antifungal agents are associated with adverse effects. Objective We evaluated the clinical efficacy and safety of a 1,064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet (Nd:YAG) laser with amoro...

Pyogenic granuloma: treatment with the 1,064-nm long-pulsed neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet laser in 20 patients.

BACKGROUND There are various therapeutic options for the treatment of pyogenic granuloma (PyG), but the results are frequently unsatisfactory, especially at difficult sites and with extensive lesions. OBJECTIVE To evaluate the success of treatment of PyG using the 1,064-nm neodymium-doped yttrium aluminum garnet (Nd:YAG) laser and to compare it with state-of-the-art treatment methods. MATER...

A Case of Facial Partial Unilateral Lentiginosis Treated with Low-Fluence 1,064 nm Q-Switched Neodymium-Doped Yttrium Aluminum Garnet Laser

Partial unilateral lentiginosis (PUL) is an unusual pigmentary disorder characterized by numerous lentigines grouped within an area of normal skin. Although treatment is not necessary, many patients with facial PUL seek medical help for cosmetic reasons. There is no established standard treatment for PUL. Conventional lasers may cause postinflammatory hyperpigmentation because keratinocytes are...

Prospective Comparison of Dual Wavelength Long-Pulsed 755-nm Alexandrite/1,064-nm Neodymium:Yttrium-Aluminum-Garnet Laser versus 585-nm Pulsed Dye Laser Treatment for Rosacea

BACKGROUND Rosacea treatments including oral/topical medications and laser therapy are numerous but unsatisfactory. OBJECTIVE To compare the effectiveness of the dual wavelength long-pulsed 755-nm alexandrite/1,064-nm neodymium: yttrium-aluminum-garnet laser (LPAN) with that of 585-nm pulsed dye laser (PDL) for rosacea. METHODS This was a randomized, single-blinded, comparative study. Full ...
